2. Ss can use the useful expressions to make an appointment and give responses in different situations.

The ability aims:


  1. For general students, they will be able to make an appointment and give responses in their daily life with one or two kinds of simple expressions.

  2. For top students , they will be able to make an appointment and give appropriate responses in different situations of their daily life .

  3. For backward students,  they will be able to understand others’ appointment and give simple responses.

The affective aims:

1. Ss will be able to know that it’s not polite or welcome without appointment in western countries.

2. Ss will be able to know the importance of teamwork spirit.

学情分析(含更新、补充、删节内容)

This lesson will help student learn to make an appointment and give responses.Most of the students are 16 or 17 years old. They will go on the work position in two years. The majority of them are of the lower intermediate English level. It’s difficult for them to communicate with others in English, some are even not interested in English.

Based on the above reasons, the methods in this class can not only help them relate what they will learn and what they have learnt to their daily life, but also stimulate the students' studying interest .

Step I Leading-in (3’)

T shows a photo of Avril to Ss and ask Ss a question.

Q: Who is she ?

T shows the other photo of Jay Zhou to Ss and asks Ss a question.

Q: Who is he ?


Step II Pre-task( 15’)

1. T introduces the task

1). T divides students into six groups.

2). T creates a situation and lets Ss solve the problem according to the situation.

Situation: Avril is coming to China for business.Jay Zhou wants to invite Avril to hang out.But how can Jay Zhou make an appointment with her?Please help him.

Ss make a clear about the task in this class.

3). Now you are a friend of Jay Zhou, you will call up Avril, what affects do you consider?

( Ss discuss in the groups and answer the question)


2. Presentation and Practice

Ss evaluate the arrangement each other.
